“Im going on a missions trip tô Japan”
At MCI I met a Kids my age going tô japan for a mission trip too. I saw Elijah in the bathroom amd told him I liked his outfit, bro then proceded to yap for twenty minutes about leaving his girlfriend. On a real not he was super kind and i got to know more about him and he was hoing to Japan for a missions trip, a couple across from us started easedropping and jumped in the convo, their son is in africa right now on a mission trip. We all ended up on the same flight and elijah got lunch with the other missionarys from my district in atlanta.
Just 9 More Hours
First time in my recolection that i have ever been in the airport/plane for so long i just lost one day of my life. The flight to atlanta wasnt bad at all but the layover was five hours and 50ish missionary showed up from the Provo MTC (Missionary Training Center) for brazil. I tried talking to some native waiting for the plane, my português isnt great but i was able to hold a decent conversation with a sweet older couple who didnt speak any english, Brazilians are so nice. The flight was terrible, it went from hot to cold the whole time so it was either sweat to death of freeze to death. The flight was from 7pm-5:30am but sleep didnt come well and i was up looking at the pitch black ocean and amazon jungle the whole time. Pretty sunrise though.
Estamos Aqui (we are here)
Finally we got to the airport, são Paulo is massive (biggest in the americas(I think)) it’s like a giant GTA server, with people just kinda doing whatever they want on the road. It was very humbling to see the favelas and the normal houses and apartments we have it so good in the USA 🇺🇸 🦅 definitely don’t take it for granted. We took a swanky bus to get to the CTM (MTC but in português) and we had to put our luggage in a sketch box truck i def though i wasnt gonna see my bags again, especially when we pulled up and bro was jo where to be seen. Talking and hearing so much Portuguese my brain is already switching most people just assume I’m from here so they start talking in português and I have no clue :(.
