Emergency Transfer

Howdy yall

Fourth Trio?

First things first off I’m all good,  I didn’t have an emergency surgery, end up in the hospital this time, or almost get sent home. Someone else did so we ended up with his comp. Fortunately I’m well accustomed to the trio life. Now I’m with Elder Gerhardt and Elder Mibubu he’s from the Democratic Republic of Congo 🇨🇩. He’s super chill. It just so happens that he is the district leader of one of the districts in our zone and the only other district zone I’m the LD of so basically we are the Zone leaders and pretty much that means we are the de facto Assistants to president and so basically the president of the mission.

The Garden Of Eden And The Fall

The most special part of brazil is all the fruit trees, and just in general stuff that you can eat from the plants and greenery. As we were passing a neighborhood full of these before mentioned blessing we began eating all of the fruit (not forbidden) but the most tantalizing was a stalk of purple sugar cane growing in the garden of an elderly lady. Cleary it was her prized piece and possession in her garden, so obviously we wanted to eat it, (here people love stealing sugar cane but you can get shot if you do people LOVE their sugar cane) but in respect/fear we left it. Unfortunately my companion was tempted by a friend who we were with, to eat the fruit. Before I knew he had made his way to the stalk and had it in hand. Obviously I couldn’t just let him eat it alone, I had to participate as well and I also ate of the “forbidden fruit”, and I looked up just in time to see the elderly woman with a machete.

[Play] ⏸️ Unfortunately my companion was tempted by a friend who we were with, to eat the fruit. As he approached the stalk he politely asked the elderly woman if he could have one of the 3-4 stalks, she whipped out a machete cut that jawn and gave the prized possession to my comp and we both partook. Our friend was then expelled from the garden and now is walking like a snake, and the lady gaurds the remaining stalks with a machete to keep us from eating them…(something like that)

It’s Not Just About What, It’s About How

Week after week has passed and I’ve reached the point where I have had enough experiences to look back and reflect on what I’ve learned, how I’ve taught better, understood more, and in general improved as a missionary. The thing I’ve realized is the mission I dreamed of really is happening around me, its just up to me to see it it. This week I’ve been studying what “A means to an end” means. I’ve been learning that to have the best experience the best time and grow the most I have to see the little things I do daily as important, every little moment to be cherished.

Our life here isn’t just the means to get to our happiness in heaven, its part of the plan.
