I Wrangled 30 Kids (I lost)

Buenos Días Los Pueblos

Yes that is spanish and no I dont speak spanish I just used google translate.

30 v 1

After planning an awesome activity for the youth, there was just one thing missing… Active leadership. When we arrived there was already 20+ people outside locked out in the pouring rain. When we opened the gates and everyone entered into the church the people that were supposed to be leading the activity were nowhere to be found. Immediately the 20+ kids multipied into 30 and they started trashing the place. Running around picking up anything that wasnt secured climbing on things, ransacking the kitchen, Etc. It was me and my comp (who froze the entire time) to try and get these kids from burning the place down. Luckily I had brought a game and it calmed down everyone enough to sit still for around 30 minutes and still no sign of the leadership that planned the activity. Just as every got tired of the game and started running around again riding bikes in the halls doin wheelies, kicking soccer balls into paintings and using ping pong paddles to beat eachother the leadership arrived and quickly they switch from terrorizing me to them. 5 kids swarmed one leader with a bald head and began smacking it, but generally the heat seaking missles were off me.

Play eye spy (1.ping pong paddle 2.bald head leader 3.my comp about to get snatched)

Small Steps Make Up A Marathon

The acumulation of all our little choices is what molds the course of our life. Will I choose to be happy? How will I respond? Will I say yes? Will I decline? Each one adding piece by piece making what we call life. To some, the unique small and simple choices we make are laughable or even unimportant, but its every single choice that determines who we are. Along the course of our lives we will be faced with small and simple decisions that will pull us one by one like each step in a marathon, in the direction discipleship, or disobedience. Week after week I’ve seen the weight of these micro choices add up, will I make an effort to study sincerely or will I just read the words on the page, will I follow the impression I recieve or ignore them, will I wait to react or will I overeact. Each time I choose the right my path course corrects.

The book of Alma states

“by small and simple things are great things brought to pass…

…And the Lord God doth work by means to bring about his great and eternal purposes; and by very small means the Lord doth confound the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls.”

As we’ve focused on the small things the big things have manifested. I bear my testimony of this truth. That through every choice we make we can choose to become subservient to the will of the lord and truly trust in his guiding hand.

Until next time
