Miracle On The Hill Of Death

The best thing about the new area is all the screamingly tall hills. The best way to go down is what I call the running descent. Just letting your weight carry you into a run down the incline. On of these hills is extremely long to the fact the this running descent took about a full minute of sprinting downhill to get to the bottom have our lesson and leave. Of course if you go down you gotta go up.

As we stared our doom in the face looking at the three people still climbing up that we had passed on our way down we decided to try and run up. About halfway up we saw a guy pushing a cart struggling. We started sprinting and flying up the hill. Literally flying. We got to the guy in about 15 seconds, no joke without a sweat, I grabbed his cart in one hand and grabbed his hand with the other and sprinted pulling him the rest of the way up the hill in another 15s. The dude was tearing up and was so grateful for the help he had almost given up and the people at the top of the hill were all shocked. I’m not sure how we got up so fast. We had scaled the whole thing in a few seconds running and hadn’t even gotten tired our legs were perfectly fine (completely abnormal) usually we would be dead. In that moment I knew we had answered a man’s prayers, looking back I’m still confused how he had gotten up as quick as we did without being tired whatsoever, but I know there’s only one way. ☝🏾

Let Go Of Your Will & Carry Your Cross.

This transfer we are trying something new, a lot of the missionaries are caught up in personal problems or struggles that they’ve forgotten their missionary purpose. They’ve  forgotten that a mission never was meant to be easy.

So we did something different, we started with the atonement of Jesus Christ. All that we have because of it, the perfect hope that we have, and the duty we have to share it. This duty being the cross we have to bear, the rejection, the physical pain, the goodbyes, the danger. All this is our cross as missionaries, the weight we carry.

24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
